The Plus + Factor

Each credit union possesses a unique DNA that imprints and informs their brand identity and positioning. Raoust+Partners continuously seeks to define that significance and value proposition to members and non-members alike.

We’ll engage our proprietary brand creation methodology called “Building the Foundation” to develop a comprehensive and actionable market position. Through extensive internal interviews and external research, we identify your culture and what makes you unique in your FOM. We find out what attracts people to you and keeps them coming back.

The creative nucleus.

We work with clients all over the U.S., but we call Hampton, Virginia our home. We invite you to take a little visual tour or our office and the historic area around us.

Never heard of Hampton? Here are some interesting facts:
  • Hampton is one of seven vibrant cities that make up what is known as Hampton Roads (also sometimes known as Tidewater or Coastal Virginia).
  • Established in 1609, Hampton is the country’s first continuously occupied, English-speaking settlement.
  • Hampton was also the site of America’s first free public schools, the Syms and Eaton free schools, established in 1634 and 1659 respectively.
  • Fort Monroe, a Civil War-ear fort in Hampton, is the largest stone fort built in the United States. Construction took 15 years, beginning in 1919 and ending in 1834.
  • Notable people who served at Fort Monroe include Robert E. Lee and Edgar Allan Poe.
  • In 1861 “Contraband” slaves—those who were formerly owned by Confederates but who were protected by the Union Army—built the Grand Contraband Camp near Fort Monroe, the first self-contained African American community in the U.S.
  • On September 17th of that same year, Mrs. Mary Smith Peake taught the first classes to African American children on the grounds of what is now Hampton University (whose notable alumni include Booker T. Washington and Wanda Sykes).
  • The Emancipation Oak where Mary Smith Peake first read President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation to the residents of the Grand Contraband Camp is still standing today.
  • Home of NASA Langley Research Center and Langley Air Force Base, Hampton was the first training ground for U.S. astronauts.
  • Built in 1957, the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel was the first bridge-tunnel complex in the world.
  • Bordered by the James River on one side and the Chesapeake Bay on the other, Hampton is an excellent place to get fresh seafood.
  • Located near Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown, Hampton is a great destination for history buffs interested in the colonization of the United States, the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War and more.
